RoMack Inc. Moves in to Custom New Facility

RoMack, Inc., announces the opening of its new 10,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility in Williamsburg, VA. RoMack’s President and Founder, Matt Webb, states, "This new facility will allow us to continue to solidify our position as one of the world's premier suppliers of specialty fiber optic assemblies and products, and since it was built to our specifications, we expect significant increases in through put and efficiencies, which is all focused on making RoMack even more effective at supporting our customers." 

RoMack, Inc., is a world-class supplier of fiber optics, fiber optic assemblies and fiber optic devices targeting spectroscopic, laser, sensor, analysis, and other industrial and research applications.

Webb further commented that "This facility is the culmination of several years of effort designed to provide an environment perfectly tailored to what we do, and simply put, what we do is supply sophisticated, unique, and high quality fiber optic assemblies and devices to some of the largest companies and most important leading edge researchers in the world. RoMack is proud of our track record, which includes products for a very diverse set of applications including: cancer research; research into the fundamental structure our universe; critical pharmaceutical quality control processes; and integrated circuit manufacturing. When we pick up Science magazine and see 16 articles about the New Horizons Spacecraft's recent close encounter with Jupiter and currently slinging its way out to Pluto, and we know that the fiber optic telescope that helps orient that spacecraft in the universe was partially designed by RoMack, and incorporates key components manufactured entirely by RoMack... well... it makes us smile. The new facility is also intended to support and continually improve the company’s robust, and internationally recognized Quality Management System, which has been independently certified to meet the ISO 9001:2000 standards. "This facility is a big positive for the local community, RoMack, and RoMack’s customers," Webb states.

RoMack, Inc.’s QMS Awarded ISO 9001:2000 Certification

RoMack, Inc. has had it’s QMS assessed and certified as meeting the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 by an accredited registrar of the ISO 9001 quality management system (QMS).  RoMack’s QMS ISO Certificate number is US06/728. (View here.)

RoMack underwent a “Rapid ISO 9001 Implementation”, which was possible because of the superior QMS the company already had in place. With minor changes to conform to the ISO standard, RoMack positioned itself for a certification audit in less than four months.

RoMack’s ISO 9001 quality system encompasses all activities within the company, including management, product design & engineering, sales, fabrication, purchasing, and training.

ISO 9001 is an international standard defining good practices for quality management systems. Of over six million private corporations in the United States, only about 40,000 are certified to ISO 9001.
